Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Macclesfield Station. 

Transport to Walk Start: 10:03 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Macclesfield

Suggested Ticket:  Off Peak Macclesfield Return £13.10

Walk Start: Macclesfield Station at 10:30am

Return Services: Numerous services to Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport

A canal, river & countryside walk, taking in Macclesfield’s surrounding green and lush countryside, with views of the surrounding hills, Jodrell Bank, Cat and Fiddle pub and Scout Moor.

There will be no opportunity to purchase food / water at the walk start.  Please ensure that you bring with you enough food and water to sustain you for the duration of the walk.  You may be able to purchase food/drink to take away at the café near the lunch stop. Some sections may be muddy.  Please wear footwear with a good sole for walking. Please bring extra warm layers /winter gloves and hats as it will be very chilly and windy at the top of Teggs Nose at this time of year.
