Overview

5 miles at an easy pace.  Flat for almost the entire length, but with a steepish hill towards the end.  This walk includes the Thames and Jubilee Rivers, Boulters Lock, Ray Mill Island (a popular destination for excursions in the Victorian era); and you can see a magnificent Jacobean mansion of which you may be able to get a closer view by leaving the road.

Possible drop out point after 3 miles.

Travel: Elizabeth line leaving Paddington at 10.17 and arriving Maidenhead at 10.56 (Freedom Pass and contactless are valid for the entire journey) OR Great Western Railway leaving Paddington at 10.35 and arriving Maidenhead at 11.07 (Freedom Pass only valid up to West Drayton, so a fare supplement needs to be paid).

Lunch: picnic at Riverside Gardens.  Please bring food and drink.
