From our start in the centre of Marlborough, we head out past the college playing fields and the golf course, using the Wessex Ridgeway to Barton Down. Then up and over the gallops where we should have some good views of the surrounding countryside and maybe a horse or two. We then descend into Ogbourne Maizey and over the Poulton downs to Woodlands farm, where we head down towards Mildenhall, where we will have lunch at the church. Using part of the old railway track, we head back into Marlborough via the older part of town.
Please dress appropriately as this walk is mainly in the open.
This walk is in the open and undulating we cross several gallops so need to take care if horses are around and be aware of golfers using the golf course.
The terrain may be wet and muddy in places due to any rainfall and diversions may be needed if the walk back from Mildenhall along the river is flooded
