Nestled in the rolling hills of Kent, Matfield Village is a picturesque enclave that exudes English charm. We then walk past Downingbury Farm Shop as the route continues past the water treatment plant, it serves as a reminder of the balance between nature and human ingenuity, showcasing how the community sustains itself while preserving its enchanting environment.
Participants should come prepared with sturdy walking shoes and sticks would be an advantage you should also have a good level of fitness to handle the moderate challenges posed by the varied terrain. Despite these obstacles, the walk is incredibly rewarding, offering stunning vistas and a deep sense of connection to the natural surroundings. Half way round we will stop for a short nibble break and further on a water stop.
Small dogs are welcome but must be on a short lead at all times as we will be passing through fields with livestock in them.
Park at the back of the village green in the parking bays just behind the cricket pitch or tidily in the surrounding roads.
