We start the walk from Mildenhall bus station walking out from the town to King's Staunch where we cross the River Lark and pass through Worlington, Badlingham, Red Lodge and Herringswell, noting the changing scenery as we approach the Brecks and SSSI and National Nature Reserve Cavenham Heath. After exploring this unique sandy landscape we recross the river at Temple Bridge before returning to the cars.
Much of the walk follows the wide straight paths of the Icknield Way and there will be some road walking, mainly on quiet roads. It should be mostly good under foot, but be prepared for some muddy areas on route.
Please bring a picnic lunch.
