A 9 mile walk starting from the village of Milldale. Park at the pay & display car park DE6 2GB, w3w signs.universal fatigued. The car park is about 400m outside the village - drive through the village and out the other side if approaching from the A515. Parking is £6.60 all day so car share if possible! Pay by card or RingGo 51715 - late payment allowed due to unreliable phone signal. On-road parking in the village might be possible but is not guaranteed.
Meet in Milldale by the river near the bridge and public toilets. Allow a few minutes to walk in from the car park.
From Milldale we initially head south along Dovedale but then turn left, uphill along a rough rocky path out of the dale and across fields to Tissington. Lunch stop is at the Tissington cycle trail car park where refreshments and toilets are available.
After lunch we head north along the Tissington Trail (popular cycle route) for an hour - this is a well-surfaced level track with some goid views in places. Leaving the trail we head west high above the dale before descending into Milldale.
