Overview

This walk will be led by Jack Hutchinson and will be locally graded moderate plus.

This will be a fine and varied walk mostly at high level with stretches of access land which may be quite rough in places. Distance about 11 miles with around 1500 feet of ascent with some steep ups and downs so poles will be useful.

We follow the Minster Way ascending via Great Given dale for the first 3 miles after which we use a permissive path above Bishop Wilton. We then continue to climb over the 700ft contour before dropping steeply into Deep Dale ,only to resume climbing to the highest point of the walk to join the Roman Road.  This is followed south via Millington Heights where we drop 300 ft towards Millington Dale with lovely views on a clear day.

We the utilise Access Land to walk high above Millington Dale to Alison Nab to descend steeply to the road.Joining the Wolds Way at Nettledale this is followed by another climb before descending to Millington ,finishing as we started on the Minster Way.

There are options to shorten the walk in the event of poor conditions
