Overview

Meet at 9:45 for a 10:00 start. The walk starts and finishes in the historic town of Minchinhampton and takes us through farmland down into the secluded Avening valley. A chance to see snowdrops in the woods at Cherington pond. A pause in Avening at lunch-time, and return via Nailsworth valley, Box and Minchinhampton Common. The opportunity for refreshment afterwards in The Crown.

Some sections of the walk are fairly steep and will be slippery if wet. Walking poles may be handy.

 

This is a Ramblers walk and free to join. After 2 or 3 walks we request you become a member of the Ramblers. Gloucestershire Walking Group is GR50.

Do ensure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Walking boots are recommended. Bring poles if you think you'll need them.

We encourage people to book onto this walk via our Meetup site. This helps walk leaders know how many people to expect on the day.  If you are unable to, turn up well in advance so that we don't start without you.

Unfortunately, we're unable to accommodate dogs.
