We are the High Weald Walkers Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk starts from the Rathfinny Wine Estate just south of Alfriston, dropping down to the Cuckmere river bank and then up a wooded path back into the estate. The return is a reasonably gentle but long hill up to the estate. There are several stiles and a fallen tree across the path up which has to be climbed over as well. There is a coffee/lunch van overlooking the estate vines and also toilets near the car parking area as well as the winery (tours can be booked) with a shop. Lovely views over the Cuckmere Valley and Cuckmere Haven.

Rathfinny Wine Estate car park. The entrance to Rathfinny is just South of Alfriston on the right going South and the car park can be found by driving up the drive until the winery is in sight and the car park is then on the left. We should use the overflow car parking which is the first car parking area on the left rather than the parking directly outside the winery in front of the coffee van.
