A moderate 10.4 km (6.5 mile) route starting at 10:00am and ending at approx 1:15pm, taking in Arkesden, one of the prettiest villages in Essex along with nearby Clavering and it’s ford and castle remains. It also passes fishing lakes, farms and two former windmills. We'll walk by hedgerows, quiet country lanes and field margins. There is one easily negotiated stile.
After the walk, for those who would like to join the Walk Leader for lunch, we will dine at the Axe and Compasses. Please look at their menu and you can pre-order on the day from 9:45am.

En route, propose to stop at the lodge at Clavering Lakes for a break to overlook the fishing lakes and use their toilets.
