This is going to be the first Uttlesford Ramblers walk in conjunction with the London Blind Ramblers. The Uttlesford Ramblers are going to meet the LBR group at Audley End Station when they arrive on the 10.47 a.m. train from London and aim to commence our walk at around 11.00 a.m., following a comfort stop and introduction. Public toilets are available at the station.
This walk is just under 6 miles and uses footpaths and farm tracks. It is a circular walk starting and finishing at Audley End railway station. It goes through the villages of Wendens Ambo, Wicken Bonhunt and Newport. There are no stiles on the walk.
Due to the later than usual start of this walk a picnic lunch or snack is planned in Newport. At the end of the walk there is the option to have drinks or further refreshments at the Bell Inn, a short walk from Audley End Station.
Audley End Railway Station, CB11 4LD. An all-day parking fee of £ 5.00 applies on Saturdays, which is re-imburseable from the Uttlesford Ramblers. Please arrive in good time to meet the London Blind Ramblers who are due to arrive by train at 10.47 a.m.
