A scenic walk, featuring WWII history, Naphill & Downley Commons, a world renowned music camp, the NT Hughenden estate and two coffin paths. Also a rewarding walk, with mince pies and mulled wine provided at the end! (Gluten-free & alcohol-free options).
The Bon Ami coffee shop is located beside the car park at the start, and we will return there for a refreshment break about 4.5 miles into the walk. Anyone wishing to end their walk here may do so. We will stop for a picnic lunch at Hughenden Manor, about 6.75 miles into the walk. Toilets and a cafe are available here too. Sections of the walk are quite wet and muddy at this time of year, so waterproof boots are essential. If you have walking poles, you may wish to bring those. Who knows what the weather will bring, so pack for all eventualities please. It is not a stile-free walk but the stiles are infrequent. There are short sections of road walking but no major roads.
