Join us for circular walk is 5½ miles in the morning and 3½ miles after lunch. There is the option of walking only either morning or afternoon but special parking/transport arrangements will be required; pse discuss.
We will be walking in mainly open countryside with only short periods in wooded areas, the ground is flat with minimal undulation. Essentially this is an easy walk but the pace will be moderate.
There are some very pleasant distant views if the weather is kind to us.
The area offers plenty opportunity for "comfort breaks" at the start point and throughout the walk.
The start point is the Holmsley Walk car park (Grid SZ211994) which is on the left just before the entrance to the Holmsley Caravan & Camping site. We intend to start at 1015hrs but this may slip depending upon the number of ½ day walkers needing transport to the start.
Lunch will be at the Queens Head pub in Burley, we should arrive there between 1230-1300hrs. I expect to begin the afternoon session by 1400hrs. Lunch menus and the address to the pub website follow.
Lunch choices (preferably) by 1800hrs Tuesday 30 September but no later than 1800hrs Wednesday 1st.
The car park is on the left immediately before the entrance to the Holmsley Caravan & Camping site. It is a small car park and very popular with dog walkers so car sharing is to be encouraged.
