Once parked up, today's walks could take you over towards Hayfield to the East, or South to Whaley Bridge, West towards Lyne Park or North to Mellor. Wherever your leaders take you the scenery is some of the best. With both pubs ans a cafe available for refreshments after it's a good day out, if only to walk the Millennium Bridge and visit the Goyt Valley.
Three walks will be available with details circulated on the coach. They will range from easy to strenuous depending on the walk selected.
A Walk Leader - Dave White
B Walk Leader - Clare Vattev - 8 miles & 1170ft. Starting from Disley it's fairly easy walking to Lyme Park Hall via Horse Coppice Reservoir and The Cage. After ascending Higher Moor along Lantern Wood there is a short descent and fairly easy ascent to Whaley Moor, with a visit to the Dipping Stone before descending into Furness Vale. We complete the walk to New Mills along the canal towpath and riverside paths.
C Walk Leader - Derek Cook - 6.5 miles with just150 metre cllimb from the Set Valley Trail to our lunch stop near Moor Ladge. We then descend to the Goyt Way and follow this to the Torrs Gorge, and the opportunity to walk across the Millennium Bridge before ending the walk at the Heritage & Information Centre.
