Overview

Updated 14-05-25 following recce today.
A Bank Holiday walk from Newburgh that starts by the church then follows a field edge right of way to join the canal towpath. The walk then continues along the towpath for about 1 mile before leaving the canal and beginning a longish, gradual ascent to Dalton Lees for views across the Douglas Valley.
There then follows a descent from the high ground to reach Hillock Lane. We then follow paths to Rookery Farm then use a series of rights of way to reach the sports field in Newburgh and return to our starting point.

The walk is classed as Moderate. Members who join 5-6 mile group walks regularly will have no difficulty with this walk. If you are a new member of the Ramblers or a non-member then please contact the walk leader before joining this walk.
