From the ancient castle ruins, site of the last dragon in Wales, we'll follow lanes and footpaths westwards with some great views across the Teifi valley. Reaching the new boardwalk along the riverside, we'll head for our lunch stop at pretty Cenarth falls.
Crossing the old stone bridge we pass the Coracle Centre and go through the churchyard to reach a footpath through open fields. We climb up an old wooded trackway and follow the ridge eastwards, back to the busy town of Newcastle Emlyn.

A few good climbs, well worth the effort for this varied walk. No mud on our recce but if it rains before Sunday, be prepared! There are a couple of old stone stiles and some fallen trees to give a bit of a workout. Routs overlaid on OSMaps given in link.
Cattle with young in some fields, so not suitable for dogs, except assistance dogs.
Please car share if possible as the free parking at the castle is limited. Do let the leader know if you intend going straight to the start.
