Area Sunday Moderate Walk. Distances are generally 7 to 9 miles.

Circular Walk              No Booking Required

Distance - 8.5 miles 

Meeting Place and Start of Walk - @ 11.10, Newhey Metrolink, at the exit to the road from the Rochdale-bound platform.

Catch a Rochdale-bound tram leaving Victoria no later than 10.31 (it should take 39 mins to get to Newhey). 

Note: walkers are advised to check the TfGM website www.tfgm.com close to the departure time in case of any disruption to the tram service.

Tram ticket - if you don't have a GM Concessionary travel pass you can get a Metrolink 1 day off-peak travelcard (£4.90).

Stop Car Parking - There should be some availability in nearby side streets such as Railway St or Haugh Lane.

Walk Route - Ogden Reservoir, Kitcliffe Res, Piethorne Res, Hanging Lees Res, Rooden Res, Edge Gate Farm, Crompton Moor viewpoint / Crow Knowl trig pt, Brushes Clough Quarry, Top o' th' Green Quarry, Jubilee Colliery, Cherry Tree Cottage, Bird in the Hand (pub - optional visit after the walk has finished).

Expected time back in Newhey - no later than 16.00.
