A long and varied walk that takes in views of the racecourse and golf course, Swaffham Prior with its two parish churches side-by-side. In the afternoon there is a cafe stop in Horningsea before the final push into Cambridge along the riverside path. There is a slight variation this year as Bait's Bite lock has reopened allowing us to cross the river Cam and down the west bank. We make our way to the station for the train back to Newmarket.
The trains from Cambridge are once an hour; we aim to catch the 17:45 at the latest.
Meet at the junction of Paddock's Drive, Station Approach and Green Road, in front of the old Railway Station.
Park either along Green road or at Newmarket railway station although this is a very small car park. The cost will be added when we have it!
