A short walk through the dramatic Nidd Gorge above Knaresborough, following paths through a steeply sided valley, with mixed woodland and open areas attractive to birdlife and butterflies.
There is a bit of up and down on the walk, but not a great deal and it is not too steep.
Due to recent wet weather, some areas are likely to be slippy, so please make sure to bring adequate footwear.
The starting point is the entrance to the Mitre pub, right next to Knaresborough train station, which has plenty of train services from Leeds. The 09:42 service from Leeds arrives into Knaresborough at 10:37am.
If arriving by car, there are a few car parks in Knaresborough. Best ones are either Market Place or Castle Yard short stay car parks. Both takes coins and card payments.
There are no toilets at Knaresborough station, but are facilities within Knaresborough itself and also on most trains into it.
Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome.
