This a walk of around 12 miles, starting from Northiam, which lies just a short distance over the county border. So come and join us on this wonderful undulating exploration of the East Sussex countryside, the highlight of which is the moated ancient Bodiam Castle.
Heading west on the Sussex Border Path (SBP), we follow this marked trail across to Ewhurst Green, and onward to Bodiam. We reman on the SBP for the first leg of our circuit, getting our first view of the castle, after crossing the Kent & East Sussex Railway. After a loop north of the castle as far as Peter's Green, the walk then returns to the castle. At which point we will stop for the usual short picnic lunch break, there are facilities within the National Trust car park if needed.
The return leg takes the group past Bodiam Station, before heading back in the direction of Ewhurst Green, where we can detour to the White Dog for drinks. We eventually rejoin the SBP, near Furnace Wood, retracing our steps back to Northiam.
