We are the Welshpool Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is the walk originally planned for 22nd Feb.
An 8.25 mile moderate walk, following the western half of Oswalds Trail ,on lanes and footpaths through fields and woodland. We will set off through Oswestry towards the Llanforda Parklands (about 20 minutes). Joining Oswalds trail we climb steadily up to Offa's Dyke and the Old Racecourse. We then return through the Brogyntyn Hall estate to our start point, overlooking the Old Hill Fort.
Muddy in places with 10 stiles( all in good condition). Total ascent about 200 metres.
All welcome, but no dogs on the walk, please (except registered assistace dogs by arrangement).
N.B. There are planned roadworks on the A483 between Llanymynech and Llynclys which may affect travel times.
