Overview

A brisk walk through the woodland of Winterfold to Pitch Hill and views south. Following some of the Greensand Way and back on the switchback path across the forest. Lots of ascents and descents. A variety of terrain and there may be sections of muddy patches. Poles recommended.

Hurtwood car park number 2; Walking Bottom. Take A25 to Gomshall. Turn right into Queens Street, opposite the ESSO station. Follow to Burrows Cross and turn left to Peaslake. Follow road through the village, turn right at Village Stores, pass Hurtwood Inn and thence to car park on the left hand side.
