Overview

An easy walk of around 5.5 miles, incorporating Pelsall North Common, Wyrley Common along the Wulfrun Way, woodland paths, a dismantled industrial rail track and a section of the Wyrley & Essington Canal (Beacon Way). There may be sightings of deer on the common.

Meet at Wyndley Swimming Pool car park 09:15 for car sharing. Directions to Wood Lane, Pelsall: Chester Road N/A452, turn left onto Bakers Lane. At roundabout 2nd exit Aldridge Road. At next roundabout, 2nd exit Erdington Road. At Crematorium roundabout, 1st exit Barr Common Road. Continue onto Bosty Lane/B4154. In 2 miles, turn right onto Lichfield Road/A461. Almost immediately, turn left onto Pelsall Lane/B4154. Continue for about a mile, then turn left onto Allens Lane, continue onto Foundry Lane. Turn right onto Wolverhampton Road/A4124. In 0.5 miles, turn left onto Wood Lane. Car park is on right towards end of Wood Lane. PLEASE NOTE: DIVERSION SIGNS MAY BE IN PLACE ALONG THE ROUTE DUE TO ROAD CLOSURE; SAT NAVS MAY TAKE YOU A DIFFERENT ROUTE FROM ONE ABOVE.
