We are the Taff Ely Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk goes west along forest roads and returns along the Coed Morgannwg Way (no longer shown on OS maps). On the outward leg we have views over the Rhondda valleys while the Brecon Beacons open out to the north when we return.
Since I last led this work in 2012 a large wind farm has been built. The good news is that the state of the forest roads has improved; the bad news, there are windmills in view all the time. Whereas the first part is on a good surface the return route is often over rocky paths. Some might like to bring walking poles to assist in getting around puddles. There are no stiles or kissing gates on the walk.
