Overview

This walk is just south of the Edinburgh bypass, it starts and finishes at a good car park near Bonaly tower.  The walk takes us past 4 reservoirs and on the return part of the walk we have good views over Edinburgh.

The walk is mostly on wide firm tracks although short stretches were muddy on the recce.  There are no stiles as these have been replaced by new gates.  Some gentle ascents and descents.

Car park at end of Bonaly Road, turn right immediately after crossing the Edinburgh bypass. We will park on the left approx. 100 metres down from the turning.
