This walk starts from the village of St Mary's Platt and meanders through woodland, farmland, orchards and quiet lanes with valley views across to the North Downs. Look out for the roadside library and seed swap at Claygate Cross and the mill stream at Basted. The return to Platt passes the village allotments, with Platt Church as our landmark.
The route is undulating and some sections are quite steep. Walking poles recommended; essential if muddy. One stile.
Non-members are welcome to join this walk as one of their three free Ramblers taster walks. Please contact the walk leader beforehand to check that the walk is suitable for you.
Dogs on short leads are welcome but bear in mind that parts of the walk are on quiet roads without pavements. We may encounter cattle in one field.
Nibble break at Ightham Cricket Ground - bring refreshments.
Join us for a drink after the walk at The Blue Anchor in Platt. For lunch bookings call 01732 885 498 and ask to be seated with Tonbridge & Malling Ramblers.
