Starting with an uphill stretch to Binfield Heath, our walk continues along the Chiltern Way through Crowsley Park Woods and through Crowsley Park itself. Former owners of Crowsley Park were the Baskerville family, the inspiration for the Conan Doyle's 'Hound of the Baskerville' story. Since the Second World War, Crowsley Park has been a BBC Monitoring Station as witnessed by various aerials and satelite dishes in the grounds.
With woods, pasture land, country lanes and far-reaching views, this is an interesting, varied walk. It is reasonably demanding with an overall ascent is 524ft.
We will stop for our traditional 'banana break' at roughly half way.
For those wishing to join us for lunch at the Flowing Spring after the walk, please ensure your menu choice has been noted before we set off.
