From the car park on Liquorice Way we walk via Pontefract Racecourse and Green Lane Industrial Park to Featherstone.  From Featherstone we walk via Purston Jaglin, East Hardwick and Carleton back to Pontefract.  On our return to Pontefract we will pass the castle entrance (the castle closes at 5.00pm on a Sunday).  The return to the car park is via Horse Fair and Beastfair, with some detours to view a selection of blue plaques and information boards.  The route is a mixture of pavements, quiet roads, footpaths and fields.
