We are the Ponteland Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

On leaving the car park we go through the park and then pick up the bridleway all the way through Darras Hall. We then head west passed Donkins House Farm all the way to the road which we follow into Medburn. We take a right turn off the road and walk past Dissington Old Hall on our way to South Dissington. From there we head over fields to Bridge Farm where we join the road again which we follow round to Dissington Bridge where we will stop for lunch. After that it is all the way back to Ponteland passing Benacres Plantation on the way. We emmerge onto the main road which we then follow back to the car park.
Terrain: Fields, forest tracks, some road walking, gravel paths. Muddy, wet and slippy in places, gaiters and poles recommended.
There will be a lunch stop.
Following the walk participants are invited to join the Walk Leader, at North Grange Farm, for some festive food and drinks.
Merton Road Car Park, Ponteland Directions If comimg from the City then over the bridge at the Diamond Pub and turn right onto North Road. If coming from Belsay then left at the roundabout and onto North Road. Once on North Road turn almost immediaely left onto Thornhill Road. If coming from the Berwick Hill/Kirkley direction then down North Road and turn right immediately after the Blackbird Pub onto Thornhill Road. Once on Thornhill Road proceed past the shops and turn immediately let onto a single carriageway one-way road. Proceed along this road to the car parking.
