We are the Rochdale Ramblers. The Rochdale Group was established in October 1994 and are part of the Manchester and High Peak Area of the Ramblers Association. We welcome new and potential members to join our walks.
We are walking up the hill known as Pots & Pans approx 800m ascent. We will see the obelist commemorating Saddleworth's losses in the two World Wars which can be seen from the valley and offers a wide panorama west towards Manchester. Close to the obelisk is the 'Pots and Pans stone'. This has a number of natural circular cavities which some say look like cooking utensils, which can only be seen by clambering up on to the stone.
