We are the Romsey Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
With our annual barbecue in the afternoon, why not join the morning walk in the Forest to sharpen the appetite? The walk takes in much of the beautiful scenery of Dibden Bottom, a highly popular area for walking. Starting at Marchwood Inclosure, we go south-west past Rushbush Pond before heading east to Dibden Inclosure and then north back to the start.
The walk crosses open heathland and passes through coniferous and deciduous woodlands. The rolling terrain in the middle part of the walk provides the platform for some of the finest views in the New Forest. The area will prove to be a hidden gem for those who haven't visited the area previously.
Romsey Rapids rear car park, adjacent to the Romsey Town FC pitch fence for possible car-share. Please contact the leader if a lift is required.
Marchwood Inclosure car park. Travel along the Marchwood Bypass to the Applemore roundabout. Take the 3rd exit towards Beaulieu Road Station. The car park is on the right about 700m from the roundabout. NOTE - the postcode is for the store at the roundabout and not the car park. Please take care entering the car park as there are large pot-holes at the entrance.
