From the seafront we follow the Offa's Dyke path through Prestatyn up into the wooded hills behind the town. Following sections of the Clwydian Way we pass through the Prestatyn Hillside Nature Reserve up to Gop Hill for lunch with a view. The afternoon's focal point is Graig Fawr, a limestone knoll which should give us great views of the surrounding area and coast. We then head back along Offa's Dyke returning to Prestatyn with more great sea views.
Once through the town the terrain is through fields, good paths and quiet lanes. There are a couple of steep sections for us to tackle so a good level of fitness is required.
As there may be livestock in fields dogs should be kept on a short lead.
Car parking at the Nova Centre car park is £5 for all day. Payment by card or cash. There are other car parks nearby.
Prestatyn train station is a 10 minute walk to the start location.
There are toilets at the start and a pub and ice cream opportunity available at the end.
