Overview

Starting from the East Town Park in Haverhill, we head over to Birdbrook for a late coffee stop at the church.  We then pass through Moyn's Park, skirt Steeple Bumpstead and head on to Helions Bumpstead church for lunch.  In the afternoon, we will return to Haverhill.

The walk uses a number of the disused railway lines that cross Haverhill, field paths and a couple of stretches of minor road.  There are expansive views over the beautiful Essex countryside.  Note that there are a number of unmarked, ploughed field crossings on the walk - as of 5th Oct, these were all very easy underfoot.

Please bring a packed lunch.  Walkers will be able to visit the Three Horseshoes pub in Helions Bumpstead for a drink, should they so wish.
