This six mile walk starts at the Library (next to the bus station) at 10.30am. We walk along the Medina River through Shide and Blackwater on the old railway track to Merstone and stop for a picnic lunch at the Old Railway Station.
The path then meanders through farmland towards the end of the walk at The Smithy Car Park at Godshill. Here there are cafes, toilets and a regular bus service nos 2 and 3 back to Newport or Shanklin and Sandown just across the road from the car park.
New walkers welcome. If you are new to the Ramblers you can just turn up for any of our walks, unless we specify otherwise. We invite you to come along for three walks as a non-member.
