The walk starts in Dronfield Woodhouse on Gosforth Drive by Sindelfingen park. We head towards Holmesfield and then down to Millthorpe and over a ford to JohnnyGate Lane and across to Rumbling Street. We then go through Oxton Rakes and head on to the beautiful Linacre reservoirs for lunch and and a loo stop and to admire the herons and other wildlife. From the lakes, we head to Hall Farm and Cutthorpe and then on to Barlow. From Barlow we cross the road and head to the fish farm on the North Chesterfield Way with one steep but short climb up Lees Plantation, then on to Barlow Lees and Cowley and finally back to Dronfield Woodhouse where we started. Overall, some beautiful countryside and rolling N Derbyshire hills with a range of animals. The walk is up and down with all steady climbs and just one steep slope after lunch. Other hazards include the usual Derbyshire stiles but none too awkward.
To get to the start of the walk take the 43 Bus at 09.00 from Flat street and arrive at about 9.42 on Gosforth lane in Dronfield by Sindelfingen park. The bus also goes through Heeley (9.17) and Woodseats (9.24). If driving to the start point, there is plenty of parking on the road. I will meet the group at the bus stop.
Toilets at lunch but not at start.
