We start by heading west along the ridge, with good views over the Leighfield estate. We then follow a section of the Rutland Round, descending to the village of Belton-in-Rutland. After a refreshment stop, we continue along another stretch of the Rutland Round before heading north-east along field edges, skirting Park Farm and then returning to Ridlington. The majority of the walk is on good surfaces, with very little mud to contend with. There are no stiles. The walk takes in some attractive undulating countryside, with several good view points.
This is a shorter Sunday walk than usual, and we should finish around 12:30. A picnic is not required, although there will be at least one coffee stop. Dogs are welcome on this walk, with the proviso that they are on leads at all times.
Please consider car sharing arrangements to reduce the pressure on parking availability at the start of the walk.
In the event of severe weather, please contact the leader on the day of the walk to ensure it is still going ahead
