Overview

This is a circular walk from Rillington via Scampston, West Knapton and Wintringham, mostly on field tracks and some short stretches on quiet roads.  There are two stiles at the beginning. We cross the A64 after West Knapton but it's not too wide at this point and there is a centre reservation. We then have a gradual climb on the Wolds Way to the top of Deepdale Plantation which we descend to Wintringham.  The descent is very steep and although there is a rope in place walking poles are recommended.  These are the only two significant gradients on an otherwise flat walk.
