York Ramblers - Bishop Wilton

A walk from Bishop Wilton over to Kirby Underdale where we turn to work our way to Bugthorpe. We will have lunch at Bugthorpe seasoned with an interesting bit of local history. From Bugthorpe we pick up the Chalkland Way taking in Awnham’s meadow and then back to Bishop Wilton. Distance measured on the OS map app of 11.6 miles with 1100 ft of ascent. Please do not be put off by the distance. The walk is largely flat or gently rolling after an initial climb out of Bishop Wilton. It takes us through a most attractive area of the Wolds all in good company.
