Overview

Join us for this pleasant, varied, circular walk. We start  on the edge of Keynsham by walking along the River Avon before joining the Bristol and Bath Railway Path to walk firstly to Bitton Station, and then onwards towards Willsbridge Mill, following the Siston Brook. At the mill we shall stop for a short break.  Through the lovely green space at the mill, we continue to walk through the countryside, with impressive views, to historic Hanham Court and then back to the River Avon for the return to the Lock Keeper pub at Keynsham.

There is a cafe at Willsbridge Mill, although many of us will bring a drink and snack for this time.

Expect some mud and slight elevation. There are only a couple of stiles but one is a bit awkward.

There are toilets at Bitton Station and Willsbridge Mill.

After the walk you may like to join us in the Lock Keeper for a drink and/or snack.

Many thanks to Bristol Ramblers for inviting us to join this walk.

We shall start in a small road off the main Keynsham Road, near the Lock Keeper pub. For those coming by car, take the road leaving Keynsham, past the station and down the bendy hill. The easiest parking is in the large car park on the left of the road, beneath the yellow barrier. Park, then walk a hundred metres over the new-ish road bridge over the river, cross the road, and down the steps on the right to the start point. Alternatively there is closer parking by driving over the new-ish bridge and taking the small road that's a turning on the right, signposted Portavon Marina. There's a small car park on the right or park on the road to the left. For those coming by public transport, Keynsham Station is close, and buses will stop nearby too.
