Overview

River Avon Heritage Trail

A lovely Autumn walk from Torphichen community centre carpark to Lochcote Reservoir and past Bowden Hill, with evidence of its iron age fort before heading down to the Union Canal Avon aquaduct and Muiravonside Country Park. We then follow the River Almond Heritage Trail past the interesting Carriber Bridge  and Avon Gorge to Wallace's cave. We then head back to Torphichen to explore the old cemetry grounds and 12c Preceptory.
