Overview

Starting in Barnburgh, we walk along the River Dearne to Bolton-Upon-Dearne, and then back through RSPB Adwick Washlands Nature Reserve. Finishing the walk via the old mineral railway, stopping at the site of the former Barnburgh Pit, before returning to the start via part of the old Dearne Valley Railway.

Meet at the car park on Church Lane Barnburgh at 9:50 for a prompt start at 10 am. The is a lot of undergrowth in places, so long trousers are recommended. Dogs welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times. There will be a couple of breaks, but no cafe I’m afraid so refreshments will be needed.
