Meet at Cowey Sale car park (Walton Lane, Walton-on-Thames, use post code KT12 1QP for sat nav) to leave promptly at 10am for a simple moderate paced riverside walk along the Thames Path to Kingston. Cafe and toilets available at the start. Please note that there are no toilets until our coffee stop at the Eight on the River cafe near Hampton Court Palace about four-and-a-half miles from the start. (Depending on numbers, we may split into two groups for coffee between East Moseley Cricket Club and the Eight on the River.) For those who don't want to walk the full eight miles, there is the opportunty to return by bus (261 to Hepworth Way or Ashley Close) from Hampton Court Bridge, where you will have walked about five miles. We will then continue our walk to Kingston where people can either return immediately by bus (again the 261) or lunch, shop or chill in the town wherever they want. Please note the bus takes around 50 minutes to get back to the car park. Although you can catch the bus near Kingston Bridge, during busy times you're more likely to get a seat if you go to Cromwell Road bus station. Alternatively, you can get the 458 to Hepworth Way, although this bus isn't as frequent. To book your place, message the leader, Jacqui Thake, by 7pm the day before on 07835 210430.
