We are the Rochdale Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is this first of three walks during which we will complete the length of the Rochdale Canal from Castlefield in Manchester to Sowerby Bridge. This first walk is Castlefield to Rochdale and is approximately 13.5 miles.
This is a rare opportunity to walk the full length of the Rochdale Canal towpath from Castlefield Basin to Sowerby Bridge in three parts - a total canal distance of 32 miles. Those who complete the full distance will receive a 'Certificate of Completion' from NIgel.
Start point is Science & Industry Museum, Liverpool Rd, Manchester M3 4JP Meet Rochdale Railway Station at 9.00 prompt for 9.10 train to Manchester Victoria. Walk from Victoria to Science Museum for 10.00 start.
