This is a walk of 11.5 miles, starting from the village of Rolvenden, which dates from Anglo-Saxon times, and is centred on the A28 Ashford to Hastings road, five miles south west of Tenterden.
Heading out of the village, it is the usual mix of open countryside & farmland, before we reach Benenden, which Ashford Ramblers have passed through, or started a walk from on several occasions. There is lovely village green, where the cricket pitch is located, as well as a good pub, plus a bus shelter, which we used previously on a wet day to have our lunch!
On reaching the church we join a short section of the High Weald Landscape Trail (HWLT), our route then meanders back towards Iden Green, where lunch will most likely be taken, followed by drinks at the Woodcock Inn.
After our stop, we enter woodland, before once more picking up the HWLT, to later reach a Byway to make progress to Great Job's Cross.
At the finish of the walk, some may wish to socialise in The Star, from where the walk commences.
Dogs welcome but on a short lead when required.
