Overview

WALK DESCRIPTION: Walk Leader Brenda Cameron. The walk is a figure-of-eight about 6.75 miles in total - 4.75 miles before lunch and 2 miles after lunch. It is a mix of field paths, some woodland, a minimal amount of quiet lane, all offering some pleasant views and a brief visit halfway through the morning walk to Waseley Hills Visitor Centre for toilets and a short break.  We do not go up the hill on this occasion but, time permitting, stay low for a very short detour along the bottom to see the source of the river Rea – a small fenced off area with a puddle among the scrub. Easy field paths with good views and woodland bring us back to Romsley and our lunch at The Sun. After lunch for those who would like it is a short 2-mile walk in the varied countryside around Hunnington before we return to The Sun.
