A moderate circular walk along footpaths through woodland and moorland from Rowen car park, past the old Llangelynnin church, and up to the Cerrig y dinnas crags with its Iron Age Fort (at 312 m OD).

The hillfort offers excellent views [on a fine day that is!]. The walk includes a steep ascent through woodland of about 75 m which can be done at one’s own pace.

Walking distance is 10 kms (6 miles) with a total height gain of 260 m.

Please bring a picnic lunch, snacks and drinks. The walk will be weather dependent so check if the walk should be cancelled the day before due to bad weather.

Meet at Rowen car park [SH759720] at 9.45 for a 10 am start. Please note that this walk does not require any registration or notification to attend - just turn up.
