Overview

We will leave the car park and follow the lakeside path on the right side of the lake passing Cliffe Park Station. After passing under the bridge, we continue straight ahead towards Rushton Spencer before turning left over a footbridge. After making our way through a low lying field, we ascend to Great Hough. We then follow the ridge to Birch Trees Farm. Shortly after passing through the farm we branch right, across fields and  down to the lane. We continue ahead before turning left and ascending steeply to Dairy House Bank. From here we again follow the ridge to Horton. The churchyard should make a good lunch stop. From Horton, a mixture of lanes and field paths completes the final mile back to the cars.
