This is a walk from Mill End Plants in Rushden to the Cromer Windmill at Hare Street. Our walk passes Westfield Common, Harveysbill Farm and Luffenhall. The return is via Cottered and then parallel to the River Beane.
Last year we had an enjoyable walk from Weston to a point overlooking Luffenhall Common. A photograph was taken from behind the walkers to illustrate the party looking towards Cromer Windmill in the distance. This walk is an opportunity to visit the windmill and see it in context.
Sadly the area is scheduled to be the site of a large solar "farm" mainly north, but also west of the windmill and the delightful valley will be severely impacted.
Meet in the car park for Mill End Plants at 10:00, but double park in the bottom corner. Toilets available. In exchange for free parking please buy refreshments at the tea room on site (or buy a plant).
