A circular walk of about 10.5 miles from Crayke, an historic village with links to St. Cuthbert whose remains were kept in the church for many years. The village was for many years within the diocese of Durham and Crayke Castle was owned by the Bishops of Durham.
The walk starts from the Sports Club and Village Hall and heads east along a permissive path over to Mill Green and then north towards Yearsley. Our route then follows a path to Oldstead and then south for our return to Crayke.
Along the route, a mixture of paths, tracks, fields and a short stretch of road, we have good views of the Vale of York.
Assistance dogs only with the prior consent of the leader.
Some sections of the route are likely to be muddy so sticks/poles and gaiters would be helpful.
Parking at the Sports Club and Village Hall is allowed and a donation of £2 per car is invited.
