Overview

Join us in exploring some quiet villages and farmland in the Vale of Pickering.

From Marton Bridge, we'll follow the River Seven south to Normanby (old church), then walk via Hill Top Farm and Highfield Farm to Salton (lunch on village green, Norman church).

We return following the River Dove north via High Northolme Farm and White Thorn Farm back to Marton.

This is a gentle walk over farmland which does not see many walkers. There are numerous stiles and gates. Bridleways are good, but there are two (reported) obstructions on paths which will involve stepping over a wire fence. A footbridge S of Marton is being repaired, so a short detour may be required.  Field paths are generally good, but be prepared for the occasional boggy patch.  Boots are essential.

Assistance dogs only.
